Theatre review!

If any of you know me you probably know that I love theatre. Recntly me and some lovely people from school went along to see a piece of shakespearan theatre in an unused car park in Peckham. Yep it definetly sounds like an unusual place to have a peice of shakespeare performed but it strangely worked
After jumping on the train to peckham after school we made our way to the car park. The play we were about to watch was Titus, one of Shakespeares first plays and possiably one of his most gruesome? At the very top of the car park was a rustic looking bar which overlooked London. It was slightly dark outside when we got there so it was a really nice expereince looking over the bar. Soon the play started and it was mesmorising from the very start. It involved physical theatre and a lot of movement. The fighting scenes were really well choragraphed and a few of the actors were phenomenal. The audeicne were encouraged to move around to different sections with the actors as the play progressed which really broke down the fourth wall between performer and audience which I find helps you connect more to the performance.
They modinised the play to an extent, me being a bit of a shakespeare nut am not normally keen on mordinsaing Shakespeare as it completly takes it out of the context, changes the meaning and it never quite works for me however they did not change the dialogue but incorparted cars and at one point put the decapiated heads into morrisons bags but it worked. It was a low budget production but the actors managed to still pull of a professional production.

My experience on NCS-The Challenege

Hello there beautiful people. Sorry I haven't written a blog in a long while. I have been rather busy with it being summer and all. So I thought I would delve into a little bit of what I have been up to this summer. A little warning this might be a long un. The main thing would be NCS The Challenge. You may have heard of this by some youtubers promoting it as "NCS just say yes"
When I first signed up I had no idea what a wonderful and exciting opportunity it would be that has actually changed my mindset for the better. I started off on the 14th of July. We were told to meet at a local college. I was going with my friend Cara so I wasn't really that nervous although to be honest I was not expecting great things let alone the amazing experience that was in store for me. I was told that Cara and I were to be in Team Reiss which is the drama group (Waheyy) and after being given a very comfy NCS hoody we headed of to our teams room. We were introduced to our team leader and group and soon we set off the beautiful Wales. When we arrived out our hostel we were told there would be no Wifi but instead this gorgeous view.

I found out I was sharing with 4 other lovely girls who were in my team. Our team bonded so quickly and I was close to all of them. We then unpacked and went downstairs for dinner. We then had an evening session with our team leader and group. We went through some rules and signed a contract. We then chatted for a while and played some games. We had to be in bed by 10:45 for the next day. The following few days went very quickly. The first day we had a few group trust exercises doing things like assembling our selves on a beam in height order without talking and trying to fit all 13 of us on a small wooden square. Then it was time for abseiling. I am absolutely terrified of heights and to make things worse  BBC Wales were there to film it.  I got to the top of the tower and I was shaking. I just couldn't let myself drop. The instructor was being so nice to me but it still didn't help my nerves. I was constantly hearing cheers of support from my team at the bottom and a BBC camera was right in my face the whole time after about literally 15 minutes (Felt like an hour) I finally got to the bottom. If you want to see a very unflattering picture of me abseiling and a voice recording of the whole thing head to this link:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-28391667
It felt amazing to actually get to the bottom though! Over the next few days we participated in rock climbing, canoeing, hiking up mount Snowdon and camping. During camping we made a huge fire and roasted marshmallows on it. The week was truly amazing and waking up to the gorgeous view every morning was brilliant.
We then had the weekend to rest and catch up with friends then we were off to Brunel university for the second week. The first day was spent learning how to be a good public speaker. It was quite fun and we all learnt something. We also had to live like uni students for a week... without the alcohol. We had to cook for ourselves which was actually pretty fun. We all shared a flat with the girls in Team Reiss and I got on with all of them so it was great. In the evening session our team leader started to play the guitar and we all made up our own song which is pretty cool. We then had to do things like make human pyramids. On the second day we headed down to an elderly peoples home with people suffering from dementia. To be honest the experience there wasn't too great. It was very depressing but I guess that's what to be expected and it made us all realise that we should take all opportunities we have in life. When we got back to university we started working on our talent show sketch. Ours basically involved us mocking all the other team leaders in a short play we made up. We then also played some games and sung round the guitar. The third day we had to head back to the elderly peoples home. This time we played some old songs for them which they really enjoyed. It was then time for the talent show which was really fun and everyone really liked our sketch. During the week we also had drama lessons which I really enjoyed as I'm really into acting. On the last day we did a showcase displaying what the elderly peoples home was like.
Then the third week rolled a round. This one we stayed at home for which was a downside as I loved staying with everyone but we were at college 10 am-5 pm everyday. We had to start a campaign. We chose ours to be about the education system and how we need to have more passionate teachers. We pitched our ideas to the dragons in a dragons den like situation and we got full funding. So we will be working on our project in September.
Overall it is an amazing experience which I think every 16-17 year old should go on. It is only £30-£50 for the whole 3 weeks and I really loved it. If you want to go but are worried you might be out of your comfort zone please do it! You really will not regret it!

Mcbusted concert, Sixth form induction and sleeping in a tent.

Well I have had a very enjoyable week indeed! Let's start with Mcbusted. I have been a huge fan of Mcfly and Busted for years. I was lucky enough to see Mcfly two years ago in Wembly and I thought they were amazing and really good performers. I was also lucky enough that James Bourne was supporting them and was playing songs from Busted. Skip forward a year and Mcfly announce they are touring as Mcbusted. Obviously ecstatic I could hardly contain my excitement. They later announced they were to headline Hyde Park! I was so eager to get tickets however my heart sank as I looked at the price. Tickets started from £60.00! So I glumly accepted the fact I wouldn't be able to go. As luck would have it a week before they headline hyde park I got a rather exciting text from my friend saying that due to an error on the website they are selling the tickets for £2.50! So we obviously jumped to that opportunity!
So Sunday rolled around and even though gates opened at 1:30 we got to Hyde park at 9:30 in order to get a good view. We were met by about 50 other fans waiting outside some of whom had slept overnight. We met some really nice people and even heard Mcbusted warm up and got a cheeky preview of Year 3000 and Thunderbirds are go. Two of my favourites. By this time I was about to explode with happiness. As the time went on the crowd grew. Below is a picture the people waiting at around 12:00

When the gates opened everybody swarmed into the park. There were about 10 gates were everybody had to line up at to get their bags checked and tickets scanned. My friend and I went to the furthest left gate and as luck would have it that was the first gate to be opened and my friend and I were the very first general admission people to get in! We ran to the stage and managed to get barrier! We were even in front of people who had payed hundreds of pounds for priority tickets! The support acts were all amazing , they included, diversity, the vamps and scouting for girls. Finally after 8 hours of standing the moment we had been waiting for finally came! The boys made an entrance in a back to the future car!

The boys were amazing and we had an amazing view!. Here are some pictures that me and my friend took through out the concert!

(Sorry that the last one is blurry) The atmosphere was just amazing and I honestly think you would had to have been there to appreciate it!
So the next day I had to Wonder down to an activity centre for Sixth form induction. I was so tired from the day before but it was actually ok. We made our own raft that didn't sink in the water! We also did some rock climbing which I sucked at!
Then on the Tuesday we had taster lessons of the a levels we are doing. The A levels I chose were English lit/lang, Drama, Sociology and Photography. It was so nice to see all my friends again. We had to wear smart office wear for sixth form so here is my outfit!
Excuse the messy bed! I really enjoyed all the A level subjects and meeting the new people joining our sixth form!
The next day I met up with my friend and we brought loads of junk food as we were going to invite loads of our friends round her house for a sleepover in this huge tent in her garden. It was great however I wasn't too great at putting up the tent... and two my friends managed to convince me that they needed me to stand in the middle of the tent the whole time for them to put it up and they only told me afterwards that they were just messing with me.
I've never slept in a tent before so it was a new experience but I loved it.
So yes that's been my week and I've rather enjoyed it. On Monday I'm off to Wales on NCS The Challenge were I will be doing outdoor activities such as rock climbing and white water rafting and quite honestly I am terrified! But it should be really good. Then the next week I get to spend the week in a university dorm so that should be really fun. Hope you all have a good week! x

Another purchase and something to cross off the summer to do list!

I hope you all enjoyed this glorious sunny day. Today was pretty much an average day for what you would expect for the summer holidays. My brother got back from university last night so this morning my mum prepared a yummy breakfast for us all consisting off toast, egg and sausages. It was pretty nice to see my brother after not seeing him for over 8 weeks... but don't tell him that. I then popped out to town with my friend. The first shop we obviously entered was Costa to cool us down from this abnormal hot weather. We both ordered Ice lemonades and sat in the park to drink our delicious ice cold beverage. After a bit of mooching around we ended up in Topshop which quite frankly is pretty inevitable if you ever come shopping with me. Soon my eyes caught hold of a bright yellow satchel. It was £12 down from £30 and luckily I had a £10 voucher for Topshop. So I quickly snapped up that opportunity. One of the things on my summer to do list (listed in my last post) was to buy something I wouldn't usually wear and I guess I don't own anything bright yellow so I'm pretty sure this counts.

Here you can see my new satchel in all it's glory. I think the bright colour would really add an edge to any mundane outfit.
Probably the best thing about this bag is the fact that it has a long strap so you can wear it on your shoulder. All in all I'm pretty pleased with this bag as after the sale and £10 voucher it only ended up costing me £2!

Where ever you are I hope your having a marvellous summer... that is unless you live in Australia where I wish you a fantastic winter although it is probably still hotter than England!

Introduction and last day of school

First of all I would like to welcome you all to my new blog! A fabulous place dedicated to me rambling on about life and fashion. I have wanted to start up my own blog for rather a long time now and since I have just finished school after a gruelling month of exams I now have a glorious 2 and a half months on my hands to fill with whatever I want. So I thought what the hell? So here's to the birth of my new baby blog.

Where do I start? These last few days have been a complete whirlwind. It all started on Friday 13th of June. A date notoriously known for bad luck. This just happened to be the date of my maths GCSE exam. Just brilliant... however it was also the last day of school for most people in my year. After sitting the much dreaded maths exam which to put frankly did not go well. It was finally time to celebrate our newly found freedom with a water fight. It was 25 degrees Celsius (which is 77 degrees Fahrenheit) so we grasped the opportunity of  drenching each other with water while we could. I quickly scurried home to get changed. I had a bit of a conundrum because on one hand I wanted to wear shorts and a t-shirt for getting drenched but on the other I was going straight off to the west end straight after the water fight to see the stunning les miserables. I finally decided on a burgundy polka dot skater dress and I just hoped that the hot weather would soon allow my dress to dry!

I hurried back to the park next to my school to be greeted by most of my year group drenching each other with water.
It was a great day shared with some of my favourite people. After the water fight we played music and chatted to one
another for a few hours. Letting ourselves dry off in the heat.
Then it was off to see Les Miserables. I made my way to the Queens Theatre
were I met my dad and we went in to enjoy the show. It was phenomenal. I saw the great Carrie Fletcher play Eponine
and she did a fantastic job. The whole cast sounded amazing and it is honestly one of
my favourite musicals to watch.
